Mark Swindells
After 7 years in Japan, including four at Yamanouchi (Astellas) where he was the first non-Japanese researcher, Mark returned to the UK and founded Inpharmatica Ltd. a biotechnology company also known for its strong commercial presence in Japan. Mark has a PhD in biochemistry and leads the ebisu team.

Alison Scott
Alison has over 25 years experience in building brands and developing export marketing strategies for luxury British brands. Alison has also had two high profile jobs in Japan, one as Head of PR for whisky brands at United Distillers (Diageo) and more recently as First Secretary Commercial at the British Embassy, Tokyo.

David Hughes
A licensed attorney (New York state), David is currently based in Basel Switzerland. Prior to this he spent 20 years working in Japan, including posts at AIG and Price Waterhouse. Fluent in written and spoken Japanese, he latterly worked for Abe & Matsutome, a respected, boutique law firm. There he worked on software, telecommunications and luxury goods, concentrating on IP and licensing.

Yuko Sato
Yuko is our administrator. Originally from Osaka, she worked as an import manager for a Swiss owned coffee importer.

Yutaka Waki
Spent the formative part of his career at Kyowa Hakko Kogyo, also serving its USA subsidiary in Princeton and New York (USA) as Vice President of Global Planning, where he managed clinical development. From 2006-2008 Dr. Waki was a Director at Shogoo Pharmaceuticals, one of the few venture capital funded biotech companies in Japan.

Nick O’Bryan-Tear
An award winning copywriter and communication specialist working in both high technology, financial and commercial, Nick has worked for both multinational accounts such as Audi as well as smaller companies such as Robinsons Drinks (see below) the drink synonymous with Wimbledon tennis fortnight.
